It's here, folks — the latest event on our beloved Steam. This time, it's centred around the creature collector genre! As always, there are free Point Shop items to get and demos to try. As a behemoth with more games than our puny human brains can fathom, it makes sense Steam has opted to make tiny fests between the larger sales to help us find hidden gems we might've missed. Here are a few picks to check out!

Palworld — 25%

I feel likePalworld rocked the world so strongly that I don't need to introduce it, but I know the world is large enough that not everyone would've caught wind of it! This Early Access creature collector surely stands out the most, as despite its superficial similarities to Pokémon, it couldn't be further from it!

Fight creatures with guns and missiles, collect them, and then use them to build up your base! Although the game can be a bit shocking at first glance, it really can be a relaxing adventure.

Cult of the Lamb — 50%

Massive Monster really hit the gold pot with their Cult of the Lamb game! The game has garnered almost 100,000 reviews, and it sits comfortably at a whopping 95% Overwhelmingly Positive on Steam. There are good reasons for all the love it has received, as the game blends several genres phenomenally and ties them up neatly in a fun and comedic adventure! If you haven't picked it up, I couldn't recommend it more.

I was very excited to see one of my personal favourite games up there in the top sellers! Spirit City: Lofi Sessions is a gamified focus tool that offers a slew of features to help you stay focused on any task. From a Pomodoro timer to tons of relaxing soundscapes! I've reached nearly 600 hours on it now, and I never miss the opportunity to boot it up when I have to sit down and focus.

As for the creature collecting, there are Spirits that you can get by tweaking the settings just right to attract them! Then, they'll relax with you as you go about your day. I highly recommend it!

If you want something more narrative-driven and nostalgic, Bloomtown: A Different Story is worth a look! Set in an alternate America during the 1960s, we'll get to play as Emily, who embarks on an adventure to save the quaint town alongside her friends after demonic creatures have taken residence in the heart of their neighbours!

Slime Rancher 2 — 30%

Slime Rancher 2 is the sequel to the cosy adventure of the same name. If you're looking for a cute companion to keep you sane during work days, I have no doubtTiny Pastures could do the job. Released just back in February, the game has already reached over 3,000 reviews and a score of 92% Very Positive! Collect a ton of different adorable creatures and give them attention and love while they exist at the bottom of your screen, and once you're done with them, there's more to find on the Steam Workshop!

Even a better twist than adding creature collecting to farming simulators is making them dinosaurs who work as your tools! Paleo Pines charmed me when it released two years ago, and I wouldn't doubt it will do the same to you. If you like dinos, relaxing games, and farming sims, I think this is a great option!
